Surviving A Poker Tournament?
This is the first time I’m going to a Caribbean Stud Poker tournament.
Each player will be given $5000 non-negotiable chips in the preliminary stage, which (from what I heard) has 16 or 15 rounds. I calculated that I have about $300 per round ($100 ante, $200 bet) - but almost everyone will be doing the same thing. Is there a better way?
Because obviously, if I don’t win enough, I won’t qualify for the quarter finals. When do I increase my bet to catch up? What can I do if I’m doing poorly for a few rounds?

Play around with the betting strategy - you don’t have to stick to $100 antes the whole time. You could try start betting more - see if you can build your stack, and back off if you need to. You could also do it the other way - start betting low hoping the dealer will make some hands and your opponents take a beating. It’s all up to you. Look at how you’re doing, how your opponents are doing, and go from there.

carribean stud is lame, it’s almost exactly like slots.
